I'm trying to determine if a dedicated 5% dining card is actually worth it for me. My dining spend is pretty low — maybe ₹1,000 a month — and I'm already getting 3%. By the time I factor in the annual fees and those annoying reward caps, does it make more sense to just focus on a single card with lower fees?

If you're only spending about ₹1,000 a month on eating out, switching to a card that offers 5% rewards probably isn’t the best idea. That extra 2% on top of what you’re already receiving would only amount to around ₹240 a year, and that usually won’t even cover the annual fee.

When you're spending less, it’s smarter to maintain one card with a low fee that provides decent rewards on everything. Just make sure that the perks you receive are truly worth any fees before you decide to make a change.

I get why low-fee cards work for some, but is it worth paying a higher annual fee if the perks are better? Could the discounts on dining, lounge access, and fuel savings provide more value than a basic rewards percentage in the long run?
