The wallet could still persist for specific tasks like budgeting or gifting, especially if it continues to offer appealing deals. UPI is great for most things, but I’m wondering if there’s any real reason to still use a PhonePe wallet. Are rewards and budgeting tools worth the hassle of loading money, or will UPI render wallets useless?

You don't really need to overthink the wallet. UPI is the best option for almost all transactions. It's a trustworthy choice for resolving payment failures and offering special discounts. I would only consider using the wallet if you see an offer that's too good to pass up; otherwise, it’s just one more thing to manage.
